SDMGA: Councilwoman Sherri Lightner recommends SDMGA to be a member of the ad-hoc Golf Advisory Committee

An ad-hoc committee that will include various diverse stakeholders is being formed to work closely with the Park and Recreation Board in developing a new business plan. Councilwoman Sherri Lightner asked that SDMGA be treated as a stakeholder because we have the membership and the interest. Mark Marney was non-committal. They talked about having a racial, ethnic, gender balance. And also of having stakeholders designate members who could fulfill multiple roles. For example a SDMGA representative who is also an attorney.
It is anticipated that the committee will meet on a regular basis throughout a 6 to 9 month period needed to complete the update process. Staff is currently working with the Board Chair to identify potential members for the committee.
